NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team is off to an impressive start in spring team play. The Bulldogs cruised to a 7-0 victory over Buffalo at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
Michael Sun, Cody Lin, Theo Dean, Aidan Reilly and
Luke Neal were all straight set winners in singles.
At No. 1 doubles, Sun and Lin teamed up for a 6-1 win over Buffalo's Simon Wibler and Daniils Snaiders
"Really grateful to be back representing Yale in team competition for the first time in almost two years and happy to get a win," said Yale head coach
Chris Drake. "Coach Nickell does a great job with his group, and they compete really hard and made things difficult for us. Lots of guys got their first taste of college tennis today and many got their first college wins which is exciting. Mostly, there was a lot to learn from out there and we'll expect to put those lessons learned in quickly against Fairfield on Sunday."
The Bulldogs will face Fairfield on Sunday at noon. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was pushed back a day due to the forecast of heavy snow in New Haven.
