NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale University football standouts
JJ Howland and
Melvin Rouse II have been invited to the 2022 Tropical Bowl, held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday, January 15. The duo will also take part in SPIRAL's "Bowl Week" which kicks off on Wednesday the 12
th.

Howland and Rouse will have a chance to showcase their skills alongside some of the nation's best as part of the FBS All Americans Tropical Bowl and prepare for the 2022 NFL Draft, scheduled for April 28-30.

Rouse, Yale's 2021 team MVP, was the Ivy League's only player this past season to earn multiple All-Ivy honors as both a wide receiver and return specialist. His versatility will be sought after by scouts as he also played defensive back during Yale's 2019 Ivy Championship season.

Howland, a 6-foot-6, 255-pound tight end, earned First Team All-Ivy League honors this past season; his second year as an All-Ivy performer. His profile of size and speed was evident all season and flashed in game one of the year as he sprinted for a 74-yard touchdown reception against Holy Cross.

The SPIRAL Tropical Bowl is a premier FBS Division I level College Football All-Star Game played annually in mid-January at Camping World Stadium during SPIRAL "Bowl Week". The SPIRAL Tropical Bowl showcases the top college football seniors to NFL scouts and General Managers who travel from around the country to the event. The weekend is focused on scouting, teaching, and football.

The Inaugural 2016 game was held at FIU with stops at Daytona Municipal Stadium & Spec Martin Stadium before landing in Orlando with the support of Mayor Buddy Dyer, The City of Orlando, Camping World Stadium, and Kissimmee Sports.

Over 350 Tropical Bowl alumni have gone on to the NFL since its inception. SPIRAL Tropical Bowl President & Owner Michael Quartey states "We look forward each year to bringing the best college football players from around the country to Orlando."
