NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Laila Booker scored in the second half to help the Yale women's soccer team secure a victory over Sacred Heart in non-conference action, 1-0. With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 5-5-2 on the season, while the Pioneers fell to 7-5-3 overall.
"Sacred Heart did a good job of limiting space for us to attack," saidÂ
Sarah Martinez, The Loring Family Head Coach. "We have to work on being more efficient in the final third and finish more of our chances. Overall, I was happy with our group for grinding out a win tonight and proud of the players that took advantage of their opportunity to compete."
How It Happened
- Sacred Heart had most of the chances in the first half with two shots on goal, but the Pioneers could not find the back of the net.

"Laila was fantastic tonight and really set the tone for our team in our build up and defensively, and she certainly deserved that goal," stated Martinez.
