NEW HAVEN, Conn. --The Bulldogs made it 13 wins in a row with 3-0 victory over Penn on Saturday night at John J Lee Amphitheater. The scores of the match were 28-26, 25-19 and 25-15.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 15-1 overall and 7-0 in Ivy League play.
Audrey Leak and
Gigi Barr both had 12 kills to pace the Bulldogs.
Down 26-25 in set one,
Cara Shultz delivered a kill to tie the set. The Bulldogs forced two straight attack errors to take the set.
From there, the Bulldogs gained momentum and hit .458 in a second-set victory. Yale continued its hot hitting with a .312 percentage in the third.
Carly Diehl posted a double-double for Yale with 36 assists and 11 digs. On defense,
Maile Somera led the Bulldogs with 14 digs, while
Fatima Samb had a season-high six block assists to pace Yale.
As a team, the Bulldogs served up six aces -- including two from captain
Renee Shultz who had a team-high two on the evening.
