NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Junior Chris Brown was the sole racer for the Yale men's cross country team on Friday at the CCSU Mini Meet. An annual staple in the Bulldogs' calendar, the Mini Meet represents a break from the usual 8k college cross country distance and a rare opportunity for athletes to test themselves over 5k. 

Brown, who is primarily an 800m runner, ran 17:32 over the 5k distance. He now turns his focus towards the upcoming indoor track season, where he'll hope to improve on his 1:51.91 PR, the fastest ever 800m on Delaware soil. In the meantime, the Bulldogs turn their attention to the biggest race of the season: the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, which take place next Friday at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.
