NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale doubles team of
Chelsea Kung and
Vivian Cheng won their opening match at the ITA Super Regionals on Yale's outdoor courts. It wasn't easy, though. The two won a 10-8 super tiebreaker to edge the UMass duo of Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul.
Kung and Cheng lost the first set 6-4, but rallied to win set two 6-4 and force the super tiebreaker.
In singles, Kung fell to Cornell's Lan Mi 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
Action continues at the Super Regionals at Yale on Sunday.
