The Yale men's hockey team will return home for a pair of games this weekend. On Friday, Nov. 11, Yale welcomes Princeton to Ingalls for an ECAC matchup with the Tigers. Then on Saturday, Nov. 12, nationally ranked Quinnipiac rolls into New Haven for a rivalry matchup with the Bulldogs. Both contests will be live on ESPN+ and available for international viewing on Stretch Internet.

On Friday night, in support of the New Haven US Marine Corps, Yale Athletics will host their annual Toys for Tots Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a stuffed animal to the game and donate to the Toys for Tots organization by throwing your stuffed animals on the ice during the second intermission.

Bulldog Bytes
  • Yale (1-3-0, 1-3-0 ECAC) struggled to find its offense in the last two games with the Bulldogs dropping two games to Dartmouth, 6-0, and No. 15 Harvard, 4-0.
  • Despite not finding his way onto the scoresheet yet this season, William Dineen has been a key piece for the Bulldogs at both ends of the ice. Dineen is 43.7% in the faceoff circle, has 12 shots, and four blocks.
  • Briggs Gammill and Connor Sullivan are Yale's leading point-getters. Both have one goal and one assist each, while Gammill has a powerplay goal under his belt.
  • Nathan Reid has been the go-to in goal for Yale, starting in three of four games. Reid has one shutout, 75 saves, and a .926 save percentage heading into this weekend.

Last Meeting with Princeton
Yale dropped both games of the season series against Princeton last year. The Tigers captured a 6-2 victory on Nov. 6, 2021, at Ingalls, and then defeated the Bulldogs, 2-1, in New Jersey on Feb. 8, 2022.
Recent History
Princeton has the edge in the last ten meetings with Yale, 7-3. In that span, the Tigers have outscored the Bulldogs, 34-27.

Scouting the Tigers
  • Princeton (0-3-0, 0-3-0 ECAC) have had a slow start to the season but showed some promise in their last game where they fell to Colgate, 4-3, in overtime on Nov. 5.
  • Their offense has come from Pito Walton (one goal, two assists), who leads the team in points. Four others have at least two points: Jack Cronin (two goals), Brendan Gorman (two goals), Liam Gorman (one goal, one assist) and Adam Robbins (two assists).
  • In goal, Aidan Porter has started two of three for the Tigers. Porter has made 34 saves and currently has a .944 save percentage. Ethan Pearson is the other option for Princeton with one start under his belt, 50 saves, and an .862 save percentage.

Last Meeting with Quinnipiac
Last year's season series saw the Bobcats blank the Bulldogs, 3-0 on Nov. 5, 2021, and 4-0 on Feb. 22. Nathan Reid was in goal for both games, making 34 stops in the first outing and 19 saves in the second.

Recent History
Quinnipiac has dominated the Yale squad in recent years. The Bobcats are 9-1 in their last ten meetings with the Bulldogs dating back to November 2017. Yale's one victory during that time was a 3-2 win at home.
