NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Behind a Pia Dukaric shutout, the Yale women's hockey team blanked Penn State, 3-0, at Ingalls Rink. With the non-conference win, the Bulldogs improved to 5-0-0 overall, while the Nittany Lions moved to 10-6-1.

How It Happened
  • Yale's first goal started with a pair of nice defensive plays in the offensive zone, first a tie-up from Anna Bargman on the left wall, and then a crafty, sprawling dodge from Elle Hartje that kept the play in the zone. Hartje lofted a backhander towards net for Jordan Ray, whose shot ricocheted off the pads for Bargman to jam home.
  • The Bulldogs' second goal came with 1:12 remaining in the first period. Gracie Gilkyson slid over a pass to Emma Seitz at the top of the left circle. Seitz dodged a defender and rocketed a shot on goal that tipped off Claire Dalton, who was battling in the front of the net, and in.
  • Hartje was at the center of the third goal for the Bulldogs in the second period. The puck landed at her feet in the attacking end and the junior sauced a little backhander over to Vita Poniatovskaia, who walked it into the right faceoff dot and sniped it.
  • Penn State put the pressure on in the third period, forcing Pia Dukaric to make 11 saves, but the sophomore held strong to help the Bulldogs secure the shutout.
