How It Happened
- Yale's Anna Bargman found the scoresheet first in the dueling matchup between two top-10 teams. Jordan Ray skated it down the left wall towards goal, with a breaking-Elle Hartje, who got a piece of it. Bargman picked up the loose change and slid it into the opening on the right side for the tally.
- It was the Bulldogs again four minutes later as Kaitlyn Rippon's attempted shot on goal ricocheted off a Bobcat defender and landed at the stick of Naomi Boucher, who ripped it home.
- With a two-goal lead, Quinnipiac's Sadie Peart cut the Bulldogs' lead in half just before the intermission.
- The Bobcats found the scoresheet in the second as Peart grabbed another to tie it.
- 17 seconds later, Claire Dalton made a nifty play in the Bulldogs' defensive end with a redirected pass with her back turned to Charlotte Welch. Welch went into the Bobcats' zone and threaded the needle to Carina DiAntonio to launch a cannon top shelf. Â
- A late-game penalty sent the Bobcats to the powerplay with a chance to score the equalizer. Yale's penalty killers recorded six blocked shots in that time to keep Quinnipiac's offense off the board and seal the statement win at home.
