How It Happened
  • After an intense 40 minutes of play that saw Yale outshoot Princeton, 46-21, the game was scoreless heading into the final frame of action.
  • Things heated up in the third period. A play started with Elle Hartje and a smooth backhanded pass to Vita Poniatovskaia from the half boards. Poniatovskaia, diving forward, poked the puck toward Jordan Ray, who shot it on net for a rebound that Anna Bargman jammed home.
  • Yale's second goal came just over seven minutes later as Ray intercepted a pass in the Bulldogs' defensive end and slotted it up to Bargman on the wing. Ray immediately emerged up-ice and got a pass back from Bargman and buried it for the two-goal lead.
