How It Happened
- It was the Bulldogs who struck first at the 3:44 mark of the first period. Cole Donhauser started the play by retrieving the puck in the corner and sliding it up to William Dineen on the blueline. Dineen fired a shot towards goal, while David Chen was waiting in the winds to bang it home.
- Just 1:29 into the third period, Clarkson nabbed the equalizer on the powerplay.
- After 60 minutes, the game required extra time, and after a scoreless overtime period, the game went to a shootout.
- Donhauser scored in the second round of the shootout, but Clarkson quickly responded with a goal in the third round. Chen made a crafty move in his shootout opportunity to bury it and earn Yale the extra points. Â
