Box Score HAMDEN, Conn. – Yale's power play got on track last weekend with four goals in a weekend conference sweep, but it could not produce tonight against No. 5 Quinnipiac at Frank Perrotti Jr Arena.
The Bulldogs went 0-for-4, including a two-minute 5-on-3 in the third period with the score 2-0. That was their chance to change the momentum and get back in the game. The visitors poured shots on the net and showed desperation to cut the margin in half. It just wasn't their night.
"I thought we played really well for 50 minutes," said
Keith Allain '80, Yale's Malcolm G.Chace Head Coach. "The difference in the game was that they scored on the power play and we were unable to."
The Bobcats, who had a 23-21 edge in shots on goal, followed up the kill with their third tally and never looked back.
Nathan Reid made 19 saves for the Elis, who will skate at No. 17 Clarkson and St. Lawrence this weekend.
