NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Jake Gehri and
Colton Shaw homered on Wednesday afternoon to lead the Bulldogs to their fifth straight victory in a 5-1 win over Sacred Heart at George H.W. Bush '48 Field.
Gehri homered for the fifth time in two games and Shaw delivered his first collegiate home run to secure the Bulldogs' 10th win in 12 games.  Yale improved to 12-6 overall. Â
Jimmy Chatfield (2-0) started, pitched two scoreless innings with five strikeouts and earned the victory.  Chatfield remained in the game as designated hitter, walked three times to reach base for the 18th straight game and came around to score on a
Max Imhoff single in the second.Â
Yale also scored in the third and fourth.
Carson Swank filed out to score
Ben Metzner in the third and Shaw launched a solo shot to left in the next inning.
Gehri, fresh off his historic four-homer game and Ivy League Player of the Week honors, delivered a two-run blast in the eighth inning.

Reid Easterly combined to pitch the final seven innings. Â
The Bulldogs travel to Cornell this weekend for a three-game series.  It starts with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m.Â
