The Bulldogs dropped two close games to Cornell on Saturday afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y.
The Big Red won game one 2-1, and outslugged the Bulldogs 12-9 in the second.
Carson Swank hit a grand slam and
Colton Shaw also homered.
Mason LaPlante had four hits and scored three runs, while
Jimmy Chatfield went 3 for 6 with two walks and two RBI.
In game one, Chatfield singled home LaPlante in the first inning for Yale's only run.
Mike Walsh allowed one run over seven innings and struck out seven.
Yale's bats awoke in game two. Shaw launched a solo homer in the third.
Cornell got two back in the fourth, and the Bulldogs responded with a run in the fifth and sixth. The Bulldogs exploded for six in the seventh.
Chatfield singled home a run.
Ben Metzner drew a bases loaded walk, and Swank cleared the bases with a grand slam to left.
The two teams close out the three game series tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
