NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team kicks off Ivy League play with a trip to Brown on Sunday. The Bulldogs and Bears meet at 1 p.m. in Providence.

Both teams are coming off spring break trips to Northern California. Yale dropped hard-fought matches to California, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara but gained valuable experience. Michael Sun sits at No. 92 in the latest ITA national singles rankings. In his most recent match, Sun was one game away from a victory over Santa Clara's Guillaume Dalmasso. Sun was leading 6-4, 5-4 when the match was stopped.

Walker Oberg earned Yale's point in the match with Santa Clara, posting a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.

Against California in the first match of the trip, Yale got victories from Aidan Reilly at No. 5 and Luke Neal at No. 6.

Brown lost to Sacramento State and San Francisco on its trip to California. The Bears have a 9-8 overall record this spring.

The Bulldogs play their first three Ivy matches on the road. They are at Princeton on Apr. 9 and at Penn on Apr. 10. Yale's first home Ivy match is against Cornell on Apr. 16.
