PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Yale's first, second and third varsity boats won by large margins as the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs won the Blackwell Cup for the 11^th consecutive time.

The top three Eli eights all defeated Penn and Columbia by more than 25 seconds on the Schuylkill River in extreme conditions that included a strong head wind and white caps.

"The boys drove it hard and executed at a high level," said Steve Gladstone, Yale's Craig W. Johnson '68 head coach. "That's what we expected from them because that's the way we practice."

The first varsities squared off in the third race of the morning and Yale crossed the finish line at 6:13.6, while Penn was 6:41.0 and Columbia was 6:42.5.

The Bulldogs are home next Saturday morning to host the Carnegie Trophy with Princeton and Cornell coming to the Gilder Boathouse and the Housatonic River.
