Leak Named AVCA National Player of Week

First Bulldog ever to earn the national honor

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Audrey Leak, who posted career highs in kills on consecutive nights in a weekend sweep of Penn and Princeton, has been named the AVCA/Gamechanger Division I Player of the Week. She is the first Bulldog ever to earn the national honor.

"I am super proud of Audrey," said Erin Appleman, the head coach of the Bulldogs. "This is an incredible honor for her and our program.  It's great to be recognized at a national level."

In Friday night's sweep of Penn, Leak had 23 kills, which ties for the third most in a three-set match this season in Division I. On Saturday, she tallied 24 kills in a four-set win over Princeton. For the week, she averaged 6.71 K/S and 7.07 P/S to go with a remarkable .482 hitting percentage.

Leak, a senior, was a first team All-Ivy selection last fall in helping Yale to the Ivy League regular season and tournament championship.

The Bulldogs (8-3, 3-0 Ivy) sit atop the league standings and travel to Cornell and Columbia this weekend.
