NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After playing its opening three games in the friendly confines of Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field, Team 150 hits the road for the first time this Saturday. The Bulldogs travel North to face Dartmouth at Memorial Field. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. The game will be televised on NESN and streamed on ESPN+.

• The Bulldogs picked up their first victory of the season last Saturday, knocking off Morgan State 45-3 in the NAACP Harmony Classic. QuarterbackÂ
Nolan Grooms threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns, and the defense limited Morgan State to just 204 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs led 17-3 at halftime and then outscored the Bears 28-0 in the third quarter.

• Grooms' 450 yards of total offense (363 passing, 87 rushing) tied for the fifth most in a single game in school history. His performance earned him the weekly Gold Helmet Award from the New England Football Writers Association and Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors.

• Grooms is ninth all-time at Yale in completions (294) and passing attempts (510). Against Morgan State, his passing yards (363), completions (29) and attempts (38) were all career highs. In addition, his four touchdown passes matched his career high.

• Grooms leads the Ivy League and is sixth nationally in passing efficiency (164.2).

Clay Patterson has recorded a sack in six straight games dating back to last season. He has three sacks on the season which is 12th in the nation, and his 21 career sacks are tied for the fourth most in school history.

Mason Tipton is coming off a career day. His nine receptions, 136 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions were all career highs. His four touchdown receptions on the season leads the Ivy League and his 248 receiving yards is second.

Ryan Lindley also set a career-high with nine receptions last week against Morgan State. He is ninth in the league in receptions per game (5.0).

• The Bulldogs are averaging 184.3 yards per game, which is second in the league and 24th in the nation.

• Yale hasn't won in Hanover since 2010 when Philippe Panico kicked a 19-yard field goal as time expired resulting in a 23-20 victory. The Bulldogs have lost five straight at Memorial Field and two of those losses spoiled perfect seasons – 42-10 in 2019 and 28-27 in 2017. Yale finished 9-1 in both of those years.

HISTORY LESSONS

Saturday's matchup is the 106th all-time meeting between Yale and Dartmouth. The Bulldogs lead the series 55-44-6. The first meeting came in 1884, a game the Elis won 113-0. Yale snapped a four-game losing streak to the Big Green last year at Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field, winning 24-21.
Tre Peterson rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown.
Hamilton Moore sealed the victory with an interception with 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs had a 24-7 lead after three quarters, but Dartmouth rallied.

The Big Green (2-1, 1-0 Ivy) is coming off a thrilling 23-20 overtime victory at Penn last Saturday. Owen Zalc's 37-yard field goal in overtime was the game-winner. Zalc booted three field goals on the afternoon and was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. Penn's Albert Jang booted a 51-yard field with less than a minute to play to force overtime. Dartmouth Quarterback Nick Howard both ran and passed for a touchdown. The Big Green is 12th in the nation in total defense, yielding just 278.3 yards per game. Dartmouth opened the season with a 24-7 loss to New Hampshire but has won its last two, including a 34-17 win over Lehigh on Sept. 23.
