NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's track and field team began its indoor season Saturday, hosting the Yale Season Opener against local rivals Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart at Coxe Cage. On the track, the 500m proved to be a highlight with Yale taking the top four spots – including a school-record 1:12.41 from first-year
Gloria Guerrier, who finished just ahead of her sister
Victoria Guerrier (1:13.56).
Lola Isom (1:16.81) and
Sydney McCord (1:17.24) rounded out the top four.
The Bulldogs had multiple other individual winners on the track.
Iris Bergman won the mile in a time of 5:06.63, and
Claire Archer won the 3000m with a PR of 9:38.40. Yale also took the top two spots in the 4x400 meter relay.
Yale had winners in three field events. The Bulldogs took the top six spots in the weight throw, led by a first-place finish and PR from captain
Bella Bergloff (17.91m). The Bulldogs went 1-2 in the shot put, with first-year
Emma Peretti (12.52m) finishing just ahead of Bergloff (12.31m).
First-year
Alexandra Bonn won the triple jump (11.63m) in her first competition for Yale.
