PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Noah Millard added a second Ivy League title to his growing list of accomplishments. One night after winning the 500 freestyle, Millard captured the 200 freestyle, using a late push to overcome Harvard's Ben Littlejohn. Millard's winning time was 1:32.85, nearly a second faster than Littlejohn (1:33.73).
After three days at the Ivy League Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, Yale sits in third place with 698 points. Harvard (1025 points) has a slim lead over Princeton (1009 points).
It was another strong night for the Bulldogs.
Joseph Page tied for fifth place in the 200 freestyle, helping Yale earn 56.5 points in the event.
Connor Lee turned in an outstanding performance in the 100 butterfly, placing second with a time of 45.52. Harvard's Umit Gures won in a pool record time of 44.91. Lee's time also bested the previous pool record. Yale's
Marcus Hodgson finished sixth in 46.67.
In the 100 breaststroke,
Alexander Hazlett, who set a team record in the 200 individual medley on Thursday, placed sixth with a time of 53.39.
In the 1000 freestyle,
Jose Cano finished ninth with a time of 9:07.03.
In the 100 backstroke,
Greg Kalin finished second in the B Final (10th overall) in 47.72.
Jack O'Connor finished third in the B Final (11th overall) in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:51.41.
The final event of the night was the 400 medley relay, and Yale's team of Millard, Hazlett, Lee and Page finished third with a time of 3:07.36.
The Championship wraps up on Saturday with the prelims at 11 a.m. and the finals at 6 p.m.
