NEW HAVEN, Conn. – EJ Jarvis, who scored 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Yale's 76-58 victory over Cornell on Saturday, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
Jarvis was 13-of-18 from the field, including 3-of-4 three-point range, as Yale remained in a three-way tie for first place in the Ivy League.
It was a special night all-around for Jarvis, who was honored along with Yale's three other seniors prior to the game. He then went out and had what head coach
James Jones described as an "out of body experience" in his final game at Lee Amphitheater.
It has been a big final season at Yale for Jarvis, who leads the team in scoring (13.6 ppg.) and rebounding (6.4 rpg.) in 13 Ivy games.
Jarvis is the third Bulldog to earn Ivy Player of the Week honors this season, joining
Matt Knowling, a two-time winner, and
Bez Mbeng.
The Bulldogs close out the regular season on Saturday at Brown in a 7:30 p.m. tip. A victory would earn Yale a share of the Ivy League regular season championship.
