The final two road games of the regular season await the Yale women's hockey team as they embark on a journey to Upstate New York. The Bulldogs will go head-to-head in a pair of ECAC clashes beginning with No. 4 Colgate on Friday and No. 14 Cornell on Saturday. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+ and available for international viewing on Stretch Internet.
 
Bulldog Bytes
  • Yale's (23-1-1, 16-1-1 ECAC) picked up its 15th-straight win when they face RPI on Feb. 4. 
  • Elle Hartje and Charlotte Welch are two players with hot sticks, riding 11-game point streaks. Hartje has 18 points in those 11 games, while Welch has 20 points in that time.
  • Claire Dalton is another play who has had a hot start to 2023. The senior is on a seven-game point streak that has seen her pick up 11 points in that stretch. 
  • Pia Dukaric has continued to be solid in goal for the Bulldogs. The sophomore has a .949 save percentage, 1.14 goals against average, and seven shutouts. She is one shy save of 500 saves for the season.

In the NCAA
  • The Bulldogs' netminder, Pia Dukaric, is second in the nation in save percentage (.949) and tied for fourth in shutouts with seven.
  • Elle Hartje is tied for eighth in assists per game (.96).
  • Yale is tied for second in the country in penalty kill percentage (.917).

In the ECAC Standings
  • Yale is currently in first place in the conference, ahead of Colgate by five points.
  • Cornell is in fifth place in the standings behind Quinnipiac (3rd) and Clarkson (4th).

Notables
  • Claire Dalton was named the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) National Co-Player of the Month and tabbed the ECAC Hockey Forward of the Month.
  • Charlotte Welch was named the ECAC Hockey Co-Forward of the Week after posting three goals, two assists and went 87% in the faceoff dot.
  • Emma Seitz earned her second-straight ECAC Defender of the Week honor after putting up three goals, one assist, and 17 shots.
  • Jordan Ray was tabbed the ECAC Rookie of the Week after recorded four goals, two assists, and 17 shots. Three of her goals came in the same game en route to her first collegiate hat trick.
  • Pia Dukaric was named a 2023 National Goalie of the Year Semifinalist by the Hockey Commissioners Association. She was one of three ECAC Hockey goalies alongside RPI's Amanda Rampado and Clarkson's Michelle Pasiechnyk.
  • Carina DiAntonio and Jordan Ray were named to the 2023 National Rookie of the Year "Watch List" by the Hockey Commissioners Association.

Last Meeting with Colgate
Colgate dealt Yale its first and only loss of the season on Dec. 3, 2022. The Raiders captured the 5-3 victory at Ingalls Rink. Anna Bargman, Carina DiAntonio, and Elle Hartje were the goal scorers for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Scouting the Raiders
  • Colgate is 24-4-2 overall and 14-3-1 in the ECAC.
  • The Raiders have seen winning results in four of their last five games. In that span, they picked up a 3-3 tie with St. Lawrence on Jan. 31.
  • Danielle Serdachny has been the high-powered player for Colgate all season long. The forward has 53 points (18 goals, 35 assists).
  • Kristyna Kaltounkova has also been a major player for Colgate, contributing 18 goals and 25 assists.
  • Colgate has used a tandem approach in goal, splitting time between Hannah Murphy (18 starts) and Kayle Osborne (15 starts). Murphy got the nod in the first meeting of the season against Yale. The sophomore sports a .935 save percentage, a 1.45 goals against average, and has five shutouts.

Last Meeting with Cornell
Earlier this season, these two sides met and played to a 4-4 tie. The Bulldogs went up 4-1 in the second period before the Big Red battled back with three unanswered goals.

 
Scouting the Big Red
  • Cornell is 12-11-2 overall and 9-8-1 in the ECAC.
  • The squad is 1-4 in their last five games. The lone win in that time frame was a 4-2 victory over Colgate at home.
  • The Big Red went on to lose to Harvard (7-6), Dartmouth (5-1), Clarkson (2-1) and St. Lawrence (3-2 OT).
  • Izzy Daniels and Gillis Frechette are the leading point getters for the Big Red with 39 apiece. Both are a combined plus-23 and have accounted for five of Cornell's game-winning goals.
  • The Big Red have utilized three goaltenders over the course of the season. Deanna Fraser has 13 starts and a 7-2-1 record, Belle Mende has 14 starts and a 3-7-1 record, while Brynn DuLac has 10 starts and a 2-2 record.
