PRINCETON, N.J. - Three members of the Yale women's hockey program earned major award, while six others were tabbed with year-end honors from the Ivy League, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, March 1.
Â
Highlighted by three major award winners, this year marks the largest number of year-end Ivy League accolades earned by Yale players in a single season with seven on-ice award recipients.
Â
Elle Hartje was named the Ivy Player of the Year and tabbed First Team All-Ivy. This is the first time in 25 years that a Yale player has won Player of the Year, and the second player in program history. The only other player to win the award was Laurie Belliveau, a goaltender, in 1995, 1996, and 1998. The junior has continued to make her mark on the program. This year, she reached 100 career points and re-broke a single season program record for assists, a 37-year-old record she topped last year.
Â
Jordan Ray was named the Ivy Rookie of the Year and earned All-Ivy Honorable Mention honors. This is the first win in this category in program history. Ray, one of the most prominent first years in the nation, was named to the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) National Rookie of the Year Watch List.
Â
Mark Bolding was tabbed the Ivy Coach of the Year. This season, the Bulldogs captured their first-ever Ivy League Championship in program history, first ECAC Hockey regular season championship, and entered the postseason as the top seed. The team also topped their program-best wins, a feat they also topped last campaign, with 28 wins on the season.
Â
Both
Pia Dukaric and
Emma Seitz were named First Team All-Ivy. This is the first year-end award from the Ivy League for Dukaric, who has had a tremendous season in goal for the Bulldogs. This season, she broke the single-season shutouts record and was named a semifinalist for the 2023 Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) National Goalie of the Year Award. Seitz is a now a two-time First Team All-Ivy selection, earning honors for the 2021-22 season. The senior has continued to provide a veteran presence for the Bulldogs on the blueline.
Â
Claire Dalton,
Anna Bargman, and
Vita Poniatovskaia earned Second Team All-Ivy Recognition. This is Dalton's third time earning All-Ivy honors, having earned All-Ivy Honorable Mention as a sophomore and then Second Team All-Ivy honors as a junior. Both Bargman and Poniatovskaia earn their first set of year-end honors from the Ivy League after posting solid campaigns both on the forward line and blueline, respectively. Â
Â
Charlotte Welch was named Academic All-Ivy honors for her exceptional work in the classroom. This year marks Welch's second-straight Academic All-Ivy selection, earning honors in the 2021-22 season as well.
