Lake Charles, La. – Jimmy Chatfield had two hits and reached base for the 49
th straight game in a 7-1 loss at McNeese State on Friday evening.
Chatfield went 2 for 4 and drove in the only run of the game for the Bulldogs. In addition, Chatfield continues to lead the team with a .400 batting average.
Yale (4-7) scored its run in the first. The rally started with another hot hitter,
Jake Williams, who led off the game with a single and extended his hitting streak to five games.
AJ Gaich sacrificed Williams to second. Chatfield followed with a double to drive in Williams for his team-leading 12
th RBI.
McNeese State supplied the rest of the offense. The Cowboys scored fourth in the second, one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Carson Swank also had hits for the Bulldogs. The two teams square off for game two of the series on Saturday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
