DURHAM, N.C. – The Yale fencing teams combined to finish 10th at the NCAA Championship at Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Bulldogs amassed 59 points over the four-day event.
The women wrapped up on Sunday, and three Bulldogs competed. In saber,
Sydney Hirsch finished 12th, winning 11 of 23 bouts.
In foil,
Emme Zhou placed 12th. She won 12 of 23 bouts.
Helen Tan finished 21st.
Notre Dame won the NCAA Championship, finishing with 188 points. Princeton (175) was second followed by Columbia (156), Harvard (134) and Ohio State (121).
Yale's men competed on the first two days – Thursday and Friday.
Jack Pan advanced to the final four in saber, placing third, while
Ted Vinnitchouk was sixth in epee.
Of Yale's qualifiers, Zhou and Hirsch are the only seniors.
