Saroya Tinker '20 is an Isobel Cup Champion!

TORONTO, Ont. – Saroya Tinker '20 is an Isobel Cup Champion! Tinker and the Toronto Six, won the Premier Hockey Federation championship at Mullett Arena on March 26.
 
In a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory against the Minnesota Whitecaps, the Six captured its first-ever PHF title in franchise history and became the first Canadian squad to win the championship.  
 
In 2021, Tinker was the recipient of the PHF's (then-NWHL) Denna Laing Award exemplifying the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to her sport.
 
Tinker played for the Bulldogs from 2016-2020, where she skated in 122 career games and was an ECAC All-Academic recipient. The Oshawa, Ontario native has been an active member of the community on and off the ice. A two-year member of the Six, she is the founder of the Saroya Strong mentorship program for BIPOC girls and women across North America. The program is centered around mental health and wellness. Tinker also helped expand the Black Girl Hockey Club (BGHC) organization, a California-based non-profit that advocates for Black women in hockey, to Canada. She currently serves as the organization's co-founder and executive director.
