MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. – The Yale softball team split a pair of games in day two of The Spring Games on Saturday. The Bulldogs dropped their first outing to Southeastern Louisiana, 6-4, before bouncing back against Southern Indiana, 3-2. Yale moved to 4-5 on the season, while the Lions improved to 17-2, and Eagles fell to 4-6 overall.

Game One: Southeastern Louisiana 6, Yale 4
- Yale came out of the gates strong in the first game against Southeastern Louisiana, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead after RBI singles from Maddie Latta and Lauren Perren.
- Latta singled into right-center field to bring home Carolyn Skotz while Perren laced a single down the left field line to bring home SJ Mull from third. Mull had reached base on a single into right field earlier in the inning.
- Yale extended its lead to 3-0 after Skotz drove an RBI double off the right field wall, driving Alex Perren all the way around from first to score.
- Southeastern Louisiana responded in the bottom half of the third, scoring five runs on three homeruns to take a 5-3 lead.
- Yale cut the deficit to 5-4 in the top of the fifth when Perren launched her first career home run.
- The Lions capped the scoring with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 6-4.

Game Two: Yale 3, Southern Indiana 2
- After three scoreless innings, Yale opened up the scoring when Ava Kang capitalized on a bases loaded situation, driving an RBI double down the left field line.
- Kang's double drove home Carmen Muscolina and Libby Peoples, who reached base earlier in the inning via a fielding error and drawn walk.
- Southern Indiana responded in the bottom half with two runs of their own to the tie the game at two apiece.
- The Bulldogs regained their lead in the top of the fifth after Lauren Perren led off the inning with a solo shot out to left center field.
- The Eagles only mustered two hits over the final three innings as Emma Taylor shut the door and closed out the 3-2 victory for the Bulldogs.
