NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Sophomore attacker
Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.), who led the No. 15 Yale women's lacrosse team with six goals and seven points in Saturday's 15-10 win vs. No. 16 Princeton, has been named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week. The league announced the award on Monday.
Â
Collignon, who has now earned two Ivy Offensive Player of the Week awards this season, scored two of her goals at a critical juncture – after Princeton had closed to within 9-7 with 9:01 left in the third. Collignon scored twice in a span of 45 seconds to help the Bulldogs regain command; she tacked on two more in the fourth to eliminate any chance of a Tiger comeback.Â
Â
Collignon leads the Ivy League in goals (16) and points (19). She is fifth nationally in goals per game (4.00) and 20th nationally in points per game (4.75).
Â
Collignon is a graduate of Hinsdale Central, where she was a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American.
Â
Yale (3-1, 1-0 Ivy League) hosts Central Connecticut State Monday at 6:30 p.m.
