NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sam Goodcase went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate as the Yale softball team downed Dartmouth, 9-0, at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 17-19 overall and 8-8 in the Ivy League, while the Big Green fell to 12-18 overall and 6-7 in the conference.
 
How It Happened

• B3 | Sam Goodcase doubled to left center to get things rolling for Yale. After Libby Peoples worked the count to earn first, Willa Ferrer ripped a two RBI triple to right field.
• B4 | The Bulldogs were at it again in the bottom of the fourth. With two runners on and one out, Goodcase doubled down the right field line to extend Yale's lead to three. Another run would score on a wild pitch, leaving the door open for Mady Smith to score Goodcase with a single to left field.
• B5 | Heading into the bottom of the fifth, Yale struck again. Lauren Perren hit a two-run home run to center field, which was followed up by another two-run home run, but this time, from the hot bat of Goodcase to enact the run rule.

• Emma Taylor pitched all five innings with three strikeouts for her seventh win of the season.
• Sam Goodcase went 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored.
• Lauren Perren went 2-for-3, including her seventh home run of the season, with two RBI and one run scored.
• Perren's seventh home run is tied for the third most in a single season in program history.
• Willa Ferrer went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
