WEST HAVEN, Conn. – A ninth-inning rally fell just short for the Bulldogs who dropped another one-run game to Columbia on Sunday afternoon at Bush '48 Field.
Reid Easterly pitched seven innings, struck out seven and allowed two earned runs for the Bulldogs in a 5-4 loss. Yale did not quit, and nearly pulled off the late-game comeback.

Carson Swank singled with one out in the ninth and advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Colton Shaw followed and was hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second.
Both runners advanced a base on a passed ball.
Ben Metzner filed out to center to score Swank and Shaw moved to third with two out before the final out was recorded.

Tommy Martin to make it 5-3. Hanson earlier in the game extended his hit streak to seven games and 11 out of his last 12 and is now hitting .417 in Ivy League play over his first 36 at bats.
Yale got on the board in the first when
Jimmy Chatfield produced a two out double and eventually scored on an error. Hanson also singled to left center to score Chatfield in the 6
th to account for Yale's other run.
The Bulldogs (9-16, 4-5 Ivy) lost all three games of the series by one run. The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday to face the University of Hartford at Dunkin' Donuts Park, home of the Double-A affiliate Hartford Yard Goats.
