ECAC Hockey Announces Women's Preseason Poll and All-League Team

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey and the league's head coaches have announced the preseason poll and all-league team for the 2023-24 season, announced on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Colgate was the No. 1 selection in the poll with 11 first-place votes. The Bulldogs were selected to finish second, while Quinnipiac, Cornell, and Clarkson wrapped up the top five. Cornell was the only other institution to receive a first-place tally. Yale was the regular season champion last season with a 19-2-1. The Bulldogs' 19 league wins in 2022-23 surpassed the program record which was set a year earlier (16).

Senior captain Elle Hartje and junior Pia Dukaric were selected as Preseason All-ECAC. Dukaric is the reigning ECAC Goaltender of the Year

Hartje posted a season-best 52 points (13G-39A) and broke her own record for single-season assists (35) earning ECAC All-Academic and First Team. Additionally, she received All-America honors, was Second Team All-USCHO, a New England All-Star as well as the Ivy League Player of the Year and First Team All-Ivy.

For Dukaric, she broke Yale's single-season shutout record (8) while playing all 33 games for Yale. Dukaric represented her home country of Slovenia in the 2023 IIHF World Championships where she recorded the most minutes and most saves out of any goalie in the tournament. Her stellar performance led her to being named the Best Goaltender of the Tournament. She also received All-America honors, was First Team All-Ivy, a New England All-Star, and was a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, given to the top player in all of Division I women's hockey.
