NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer team downed UC Irvine 2-0 on Saturday night at Reese Stadium. First year
Simon Adjakple and junior
Jonathan Seidman each tallied their first collegiate goals to lead the Bulldogs to a major non-conference victory.
"I am very proud of the guys and happy to have our first full 90 minute performance and a deserved result against a very good team like UC Irvine," said
Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "Everyone worked very hard, and more importantly, worked together and executed the plan. We have been close to getting shutouts the past two games before this but lost focus and that was a big emphasis today to have a full team commitment for 90 minutes and to also score two very good goals that started with great defensive work, but finished off with excellent attacking ability."
With the win, Yale improves to 2-3-0, while UC Irvine falls to 3-2-2.
