NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following almost two hours of delays due to lightning, the Bulldogs had two lightning strikes of their own to down UConn 2-1 on Friday night at Reese Stadium.
Eric Lagos netted both goals to pace the offense, while
Chris Edwards played a career-best game in goal to propel Yale to its first victory of the season.
With the win the Bulldogs improve to 1-2-0, while the Huskies fall to 2-2-0.

Game Notes
- The start of the game was delayed 35 minutes due to inclement weather and delayed for over an hour at the 38' mark because of lightning.
- Yale recorded a season-high 13 shots during the victory.
- Lagos broke the Bulldogs' two-game scoreless streak with his first goal in the second half.
- Lagos registered a multi-goal game for the second time in his career previously accomplishing the feat against Fairfield in 2021.
- Edwards doubled his previous career-high in saves, stopping eight shots.
