NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Two individuals and one doubles tandem representing the Yale University men's tennis team advanced today at the Ivy League ITA Masters Qualifying event.

Singles Results

• Edward Liao defeated Yujiro Onuma of Dartmouth in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. He will face Rodrigo Fernandes of Cornell on Sunday.
• Jim Ji advanced with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Milan Markovits of Princeton. Next up is Petar Teodorovic of Cornell.
• Jason Shuler lost to Princeton's Evan Wen, 7-5, 6-4.
• Renaud Lefevre was defeated by Alan Kam of Princeton in three sets - 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2).

Doubles Results

• Vignesh Gogineni and Shuler opened the day with an 8-6 win over Denny Bao and Carlos Guerrero Alvarez of Dartmouth. They followed with a 8-3 triumph over Luka Butera and Sanjeev Chundu of Brown. Next up is Kam and Wen of Princeton on Sunday in the final.
• Liao and Ji were defeated, 8-5, by Alex Knox-Jones and Leo Pade of Dartmouth in consolation action.

The Bulldogs return to action for day three of the Ivy League ITA Masters Qualifying on Sunday morning.
