NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale field hockey team came up against a red-hot Harvard team Friday night at Berylson Field, where the Crimson scored the first three goals of the game en route to winning its sixth straight game – and 12th straight Ivy League regular season game – 3-1.
Harvard improves to 8-1 overall, 3-0 in the Ivy League, while Yale falls to 6-3 overall and 1-2 in the Ivy League.
Summary
- Harvard took the lead shortly before the end of the first quarter. Kate Oliver was open just inside the post and put in a feed from Sage Piekarski at 13:32.
- The Crimson scored twice in a span of 6:36 in the second quarter to take control of the game. At 21:30, Lara Beekhuis lofted in a rebound to make it 2-0 Harvard. At 28:06, Lucy Leel knocked in a rebound during a Harvard penalty corner to get the lead to three.
- Lauren Venter got Yale on the scoreboard at 41:16 of the third, deflecting in a long pass from Hettie Whittington.
- Neither team had a shot on goal in the fourth quarter.

- Alexa Pitts finished with four saves. Harvard had a 12-7 shot advantage.
- Venter now has three goals for the season, tripling her total from last year. She has a point in four of the last five games.
- This was just the second time this season an opponent has scored more than two goals against Yale. The other was in a 3-2 loss at then-No. 14 UConn Sept. 22.
- Yale held Harvard scoreless for the final 31:54.
- At 1-2 in the Ivy League, Yale is now part of a four-way tie for fourth with Columbia, Cornell and Penn.
