Another Double-Double for Egger, But Bulldogs Fall to Pacific 60-50

NEW HAVEN, Conn.  –  Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger continued her torrid streak for the Yale women's basketball team Sunday afternoon at Lee Amphitheater, notching her second straight double-double. But Egger's 21 point, 13 rebound effort was not enough to overcome a balanced scoring attack by Pacific. The Tigers had three players score 11+ points, and shot .460 as a team, en route to beating the Bulldogs 60-50.

Yale (1-5, 0-0 Ivy League) led 14-12 at 8:25 of the second quarter after a layup by senior guard Avery Lee. But Pacific (3-3, 0-0 WCC) went on an 11-0 run that changed the complexion of the game. Yale would battle back several times the rest of the way but never took the lead.

The Bulldogs were able to trim the Tigers' lead to five heading into halftime, but Pacific scored the first six points of the third quarter to re-take a commanding lead.

Yale had one last run, getting within four on an Egger layup at 9:58 of the fourth, but Pacific once again responded. The Tigers built their lead up to as many as 12 points before finishing with the 60-50 victory.
