Vignesh Gogineni and
Jim Ji led a four-win showing for the Yale University men's tennis team on the final day of the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.
The Bulldogs registered a 12-6 mark over the weekend. Gogineni and Ji each went a perfect 3-0 in singles action. Gogineni knocked off two SEC opponents and one from the ACC along the way.
Singles Results
- Gogineni posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Isac Stromberg of Ole Miss.
- Ji also recorded a straight set win, 6-1, 6-4, against Baran Soyler of Georgia State.
- Jason Shuler battled Michal Novansky of Mississippi State to three sets, but fell by scores of 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.
- Eric Li also went three sets with Liberty's Matija Samardzic, but was edged by scores of 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Doubles Results
- Gogineni and Shuler registered an 8-5 victory over Georgia Tech's Gabriele Brancatelli and Rohan Sachdev.
- Li and Ji capped their doubles efforts by defeating Siwanat Auytayakuiwanal and Chase Robinson of Liberty, 8-5.
The Bulldogs return to action on Nov. 7 with student-athletes competing at the ITA Sectional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C. and the ITA Masters Championships in San Diego.
