PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 21 Yale women's lacrosse team continues racking up the hat tricks, with two more on Saturday in a 13-5 win at Temple. This time it was junior midfielder
Sky Carrasquillo and junior attacker
Taylor Everson who had three-goal games – giving Yale seven hat tricks by six different players in the first three games (Carrasquillo has done it twice).
After Temple (4-1, 0-0 AAC) scored the first goal of the game, Yale (3-0, 0-0 Ivy League) scored the next 10. The Bulldogs held the Owls scoreless from the 9:18 mark of the first until the 0:46 mark of the third.
Temple enjoyed a 4-1 run from late in the third until midway through the fourth. Yale closed out the win with two goals in the final 5:54.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
- Everson led Yale in goals with four, while senior attacker Chloe Conaghan and junior midfielder Taylor Lane had two assists each. Lane led Yale in draw controls with seven.
- Lane had a team-best four ground balls, while junior midfielder Molly McGuckin had a team-best three caused turnovers.
- First-year goalkeeper Laura O'Connor had five saves.
TURNING POINT
- A 4-0 run by Yale in a span of less than nine minutes in the third turned a 6-1 Bulldog lead into a 10-1 Bulldog lead.
KEY STATS
- Yale outshot Temple 38-16, including 28-11 in shots on goal. The Bulldogs won 16 of 22 draw controls.
NOTES
- Seven different players had at least one point for Yale, and six had two or more points.
- Yale allowed Temple only two free-position shots.
- This was Yale's first win at Temple. The Owls had been 9-0 against the Bulldogs at home.
