PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 21 Yale women's lacrosse team made an early statement in the race for the Ivy League title Saturday, topping No. 23 Princeton 11-9 at Sherrerd Field. With the game tied 7-7 at halftime, the Bulldogs outscored the Tigers 3-0 in a third quarter that proved decisive.
Starting in the second quarter, Yale held Princeton scoreless for a span of 29:14 as the Bulldogs turned a 7-6 deficit into an 11-7 lead.
Yale (4-0, 1-0 Ivy League) was led by five goals from junior attacker
Jenna Collignon. Princeton (2-2, 0-1 Ivy League) suffered its second two-goal loss to a nationally ranked team this season, having fallen 14-12 at then-No. 16 Virginia in the opener.

- After Princeton took a 6-4 lead – what would turn out to be its biggest of the day – early in the second quarter, a pair of goals by Collignon in a span of less than two minutes tied the score. The Tigers would get one back with 4:49 remaining, but the Bulldogs then went on a 5-0 run and never relinquished the lead.
