NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team split a pair of games to close out a three-game series against Brown. The Bulldogs took game one, 4-3, before the Bears took a game two victory, 7-6. Yale's record improved to 8-18 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy League, while Brown moved to 6-11 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Game 1: Yale 4, Brown 3
- It was the Bears who broke ground first in the third inning with a pair of runs and the lead.
- The Bulldogs offense remained quiet until the fifth inning. Carolyn Skotz gave Yale its first baserunner of the inning, drawing a walk at the plate. A single to right field from Libby Peoples put runners on the corners. In the next at bat, Willa Ferrer knocked in Skotz with a single and sent Peoples to third, who subsequently scored on a ground out the next batter. Sam Goodcase pounded a double to center field that scored the go-ahead run for Yale.
- Brown responded with another game-tying run in the top half of the sixth.
- The bottom half of the inning saw action for the Bulldogs, who managed four baserunners in the inning. With two-out and runners in scoring position, Ferrer singled to score the game-winning run.

Game 2: Brown 7, Yale 6
- It was all Brown in the beginning half of the game. The Bears jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning on four hits.
- The Bulldogs responded with a run on a Libby Peoples RBI single to left field.
- In the third, Brown tacked on a run with a solo home run to center field and in the fifth they found themselves with two more runs on the scoresheet and a six-run lead.
- Yale's offense picked up in the fifth and loaded the bases in the first three at bats. Isabella Fortini scored on a wild pitch before Sam Goodcase dropped in a two RBI single to shallow right.
- The bottom of the seventh gave Yale another opportunity to tie it, down three runs.
- Carolyn Skotz and Sam Goodcase took up occupancy on first and second from their time at the plate. With two outs, Sophie Woodridge came in to pinch hit and blasted a triple to center field that scored both Skotz and Goodcase and brought the Bulldogs within one. Â
- The late push wasn't enough as the Bears held on to win it by one.
