STORRS, Conn. – At the UConn Dog Fight Invite Saturday, the Yale women's track and field team faced off against a variety of teams, including local rivals UConn and Quinnipiac as well as fellow Ivy League member Dartmouth.
The Bulldogs:
- Yale (42 points) finished sixth of 11 teams. UConn won with 186.75 points.

- In the hammer, senior Maria Leskovec was Yale's top finisher and threw a new personal record of 52.46m, besting her previous PR by about a meter. Sophomore Charlie Williams also set a huge PR by more than two meters, throwing the hammer 41.80m. The big throws continued in the shot put with first year Emma Peretti, who set a PR in 12.94m, Yale's farthest throw in the event at the meet. Peretti also set a PR in the discus, throwing 37.51m.
- In the high jump, senior Abrianna Barrett finished fourth overall with a season's best mark of 1.65m.
- A duo of first years were Yale's top finishers in the 400m hurdles and 200m sprint. In the 400m hurdles, first year Lola Isom finished sixth, walking away with a shiny new personal record of 1:05.06. In the 200m, first year Sophie Spokes ran under 25 seconds, crossing the line in 24.99 seconds to finish in seventh place overall. Yale's top finisher in the 400m was senior Ella Mainwaring Foster, who finished in third place. She crossed the line in 57.36 seconds, a season's best.
- Throughout the meet the Bulldogs illustrated the depth of their sprint squad. That was especially evident in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, where Yale's A and B teams earned second and third place.
Up next: On Saturday, Apr. 6, the Bulldogs are set to compete against Harvard in the first home meet of the season.
