Bulldogs Down Princeton to Take Weekend Series

Colton Shaw tossed seven solid innings to earn the victory

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Bulldogs made it back-to-back wins and won a series on a road with a 5-2 victory against Princeton on Sunday afternoon.  With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 3-3 in Ivy League play.

How it happened:

Top 1st | Chace Chaplin reached on an error to plate Davis Hanson, who started a two-out rally with a double.
Top 3rd | Garrett Larsen blasted his first collegiate homer -- a solo shot to left center.
Top 4th | Alec Atkinson and Max Imhoff delivered run-scoring hits to pad the lead.
Bottom 6th | Jake Bold breaks up the shutout bid with a solo homer off of Colton Shaw.
Bottom 7th | Kaden Kram hit a solo homer with one out, and Shaw powered through to get the final two outs of the inning.
Top 8th | Davis Hanson homered to left field for an insurance run.

Game notes:
  • Shaw struck out seven and scattered five hits over seven solid innings to earn his first victory of the season.
  • Davis Hanson extended his hit streak to eight games and hit his team-leading fourth home run.  Hanson went 7 for 13 in the series.
  • Tate Evans struck out all six batters he faced to earn his second save of the season.
  • Imhoff went 4 for 9 in the series, and has a hit in five of his six Ivy League games.  He is hitting .350 in conference play.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play at Quinnipiac on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
