PRINCETON, N.J. and STORRS, Conn. – It was a big first day for the Yale women's jump and throw squad at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational and the UConn Northeast Challenge. Although athletes were split between the two meets, both groups of Bulldogs chased down the competition across events.

- At Princeton, Senior Maria Leskovec set a new PR in the hammer throw to finish sixth overall with a mark of 52.81m. This throw narrowly beat her previous personal best of 52.46m, which she set on Mar. 30 at the UConn Dog Fight. In the long jump, junior Dominique Romain also finished sixth for Yale. Her impressive mark of 5.68m converts to roughly 18-7 ¾ ft.
- At UConn, senior Sydney Kunkler was Yale's top finisher in the long jump, reaching a mark of 5.44m. Following her were sophomores Caroline Glessing, who jumped 5.26m, and Kiera Suh, who came away with a season's best mark of 4.83m. In an impressive show of consistency, senior Eileen Yang notched a mark of 3.63m in the pole vault, her seventh meet in a row with a height over 3.60m.
Up next, the Bulldogs will compete in the final day of competition at both the Larry Ellis Invitational and the UConn Northeast Challenge on Saturday. The second day at Princeton will showcase more throwing events, while sprinters and the distance group will head to Storrs to compete at UConn.
