WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – On Friday the Yale women's track and field team brought the heat to the warm spring day at the Wake Forest Invitational, where a combination of smart training and stiff competition set the stage for a school record and numerous personal bests.

- First year Juliette Kosmont broke the Yale record in the 100m. Her time of 11.80 seconds also earned her second place in the event.
- First year Gloria Guerrier finished the 400m hurdles in 59.64, dipping below one minute for the first time to finish third overall. Her time was nearly three seconds faster than her previous PR.
- In the 1500m, sophomore Linde Fonville ran a personal record by over three seconds to finish in second place overall. She crossed the finish line in 4:24.05 after completing her final lap in just 67 seconds. Fonville also won her heat of the 800m with a time of 2:11.24.
- Junior Dominique Romain finished fourth in the long jump. Her mark of 5.93m tied her previous personal best.
- Senior Maria Leskovec threw 54.94m in the hammer, setting a massive PR by over two meters to finish in eighth place.
- The Yale women's 4x100 team showcased Yale's depth. The relay, consisting of first year Sophie Spokes, sophomore Makayla White, Romain and Kosmont, won the event in a time of 46.37 seconds. The 4x400 relay, consisting of first year Gloria Guerrier, junior Bridget Vitu, senior Ella Mainwaring Foster,and junior Peyton Parker, also finished first in 3:47.93.
After Saturday's Mark Young Invitational at home, most Bulldogs will stay local and compete at the Yale Springtime Invitational, which takes place on Sunday, Apr. 28. A few athletes will head to the University of Pennsylvania for the Penn Relays, held from Apr. 25-27.
Yale will aim to continue the impressive performances as the Bulldogs build up to the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, held this year at Princeton from May 4-5.
