NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yale softball team split a pair of games with Columbia, a 4-0 loss in game one and a 5-2 victory in game two. With a game two victory over the Lions, the Bulldogs clinched a spot in the 2024 Ivy League Tournament. Yale's record moved to 19-24 overall and 13-7 in the conference, while Columbia moved to 15-21 overall and 9-8 in the Ivy.

Game 1: Columbia 4, Yale 0
- B1 | Columbia picked up two runs early with a solo home run and a two-out RBI single.
- B6 | The Lions added two more runs with a two-out RBI single to left field.

Game 2: Yale 5, Columbia 2
- T1 | Yale hopped out of the gates in game two looking to rebound from a loss in game one. A double from Sophie Woodridge gave Yale its first base runner of the game. Willa Ferrer knocked her in with a RBI double of her own. Lauren Perren came to the plate and ripped a triple that sent Ferrer packing to home and resulted in a two-run lead early.Â
- T4 | Carolyn Skotz's two-out solo shot gave the Bulldogs a three-run lead. After Woodridge singled in the next at bat, the hometown kid Ferrer barreled a two-run home run, extending the lead to five.
- B6 | Columbia tried to chip away at Yale's lead with a two RBI double through the left side.
- Hannah Turner pitched a solid four innings in game two, allowing just three hits in 15 batters faced.

- The Bulldogs have now clinched a spot in both of the Ivy League's first two postseason tournaments. They were the No. 3 seed in 2023.
- Carolyn Skotz went 3-for-6 on the day including a home run, a walk, and a stolen base.
- Willa Ferrer went 2-for-4 on the day including a home run and a double, three walks, and three RBI.
