CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 16 Yale women's lacrosse team had its nine-game winning streak snapped Wednesday afternoon, falling to No. 4 BC 16-8 at Alumni Stadium.
Yale (9-1, 3-0 Ivy League) was just the fourth team to hold BC (11-2, 5-1 ACC) to fewer than 17 goals this season, but it was not enough for the win. The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 3:40 and Yale got no closer than two the rest of the way.

- After Yale closed within 7-5 with 1:10 left in the first half on a goal by first-year midfielder Karina Herrera, BC got a buzzer-beater from Rachel Clark to extend the lead to 8-5 and then scored the first five goals of the third quarter.
KEY STAT
- BC's 37 shots represented the most Yale has allowed in a game this season – nine more than any other Bulldog opponent and eight more than Yale's two previous opponents (Dartmouth and Brown) combined.
NOTES
- This was the first time since May 7, 2023 that Yale allowed more than 12 goals in a game.
- The Bulldogs had been the only unbeaten team in NCAA Division I women's lacrosse.
- Yale's nine-game winning streak tied for the fourth-longest in school history. The team had one 13 game winning streak and two 12 game winning streaks.
- Yale is 9-1 for the third time in school history (1995, 2001).
- The rain held off at the start of the game, but by the second quarter was fairly steady. The start time was moved two hours earlier to avoid the heavy rain that came later in the day.
