NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's track and field team pulled away with the win in their annual dual meet against Harvard Saturday at Cuyler Athletic Complex. Although the Bulldogs had to fight brutal winds throughout the entirety of the meet, their determination paid off, as they beat their archrivals 88 to 74.

The Bulldogs:
- Yale's 4x100 started the dual meet off on a high note, winning the event in a time of 48.29 seconds. Yale's 4x400 wrapped up the meet nicely, winning the event in 3:59.96.
- The young talent that Yale has was evident in the shorter sprints. In the 100m, first year Juliette Kosmont sprinted to second place, setting a personal record with a mark of 11.99 seconds. Sophomore Casia Provencal set a personal record in the 100m hurdles. She finished third in the event in 14.67 seconds. In the 200m, first year Sophie Spokes was the top finisher for the Bulldogs. She ran 25.55 seconds in the windy conditions. First year Gloria Guerrier won the 400m hurdles in a personal record of 1:04.38, nearly four seconds faster than her past collegiate best.
- The longer distance events also featured Bulldog wins. Yale snagged the top four places in the 800m. The Bulldogs were led by first year Kalista Villatoro, who finished in a time of 2:15.93. Following Villatoro, first year Daniella Henderson was second, junior Arielle Moore finished third and first year Priya Gangadharan rounded out the top four. In the 1500, senior Kyra Pretre finished second in a time of 4:34.90, leading sophomores Claire Archer, Linde Fonville and Charlotte Whitehurst to cross the finish line in under 4:40. Junior Sophia Karperos kept the momentum going for the Bulldogs. She pulled away to win her first 3000m steeplechase of the season, in a time of 11:35.19.
- In the throwing events, one of the most memorable performances of the day was first year Emma Peretti. Peretti set personal records in all three of her events and was Yale's top finisher in the shot put. She threw 38.73m in the discus, 22.56m in the javelin, and 13.28m in the shot put.
- The Bulldogs earned the top four places in the long jump. Junior Dominique Romain earned five points for Yale by finishing first with a jump of 5.60m. Junior Bharathi Subbiah, senior Sydney Kunkler and first year Alexandra Bonn all jumped over five meters as well. Senior Abrianna Barrett won the high jump with a mark of 1.68m, just 0.02 meters off her personal record.
Next weekend, the Bulldogs will split up. Some athletes will stay local and compete at the UConn Northeast Challenge, held in Storrs, Conn., from Apr. 12-13. Others will head down to New Jersey to go up against a variety of schools at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational, also held on Apr. 12-13.
