NEW HAVEN, Conn. – On a beautiful fall Saturday night at Reese Stadium the Yale men's soccer team earned its first win of the season, topping Sacred Heart 4-1. The Bulldogs improve to 1-4-1, unbeaten in their last two games. Sacred Heart falls to 5-2, with its four-game winning streak snapped.
"I am really happy for the guys to get a very deserved win tonight," said
Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "We talked about building on our performance last game and taking it another level better and I think we did that tonight. It was great to get several goals in different ways and all from different guys contributing. The guys know that we still need to keep improving and especially making sure we do more to earn clean sheets as we are giving up far more chances than we should. We had a lot of guys get important minutes tonight and need to make sure we recover well for another quick turnaround on Tuesday for another in-state rival."
