• Yale dropped its Ivy League opener for the second straight season. Last year, the Bulldogs rebounded to win five of their last six Ivy games to earn a share of the championship.
Â
• The loss snapped Yale's five-game road winning streak. The Bulldogs were 3-0 away from home last year and hadn't lost a road game since falling at Penn in 2022.
QUOTING COACH RENO
"Give credit to Cornell. They outplayed us in all phases today," said Tony Reno, Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "We were inconsistent in all areas and made mistakes that keep you from winning football games. We have a lot of work to do this week to improve in all areas."
Â
WHAT'S AHEAD
Â
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they host Central Connecticut next Saturday at noon at Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field. Yale's next Ivy League game is in two weeks against Dartmouth, also at the Bowl.
