NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale men's cross country team has earned the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team award for 2024, posting a 3.72 cumulative GPA. Yale's GPA ranked second in the Ivy League and sixth nationally. This was the best GPA for the Bulldogs in the 20 seasons of available records for this award program.
Additionally, three Bulldogs were honored individually as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes. Yale's honorees were:

Brewer, a political science major, earned team MVP honors this year. At the NCAA Northeast Regionals he earned all-region recognition by placing 24th. He was 17th at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.

Karas, a psychology major, also earned all-region honors. He placed 22nd at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, where he was Yale's top finisher. He was 18th at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.

Pala, an economics major, placed 25th at the NCAA Northeast Regionals to earn all-region honors. He placed 20th at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.

The USTFCCCA announced the awards Thursday. The All-Academic Team award is given annually to teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. To qualify for individual All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 (or top 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
